As we sat there, in walked the Buckeyes with their coach, Jim Tressel. .In that group of players was Tyler Whaley dressed in his suit and tie and looking every bit like an Ohio State Buckeye. We were so proud and I know he was. As he and the team left, we hurried over to The Shoe to make sure we saw the team run onto the field. Our wait wasn't long. As the players started making their way out, my binoculars scanned the field and yes there he was. I said,
" look!" with tears running down my face, "there he is, number 79!"  Wow - talk about chill bumps!

Later that evening, Tyler, his grandfather Tommy Tipton, my wife and myself took in the Wheelersburg Ironton football game. It gave me a chance to talk with Tyler and get some of his comments, not only of the ame but also of himself. He knew ahead of time I was going to do this.

The first thing I asked him was what about the future. He was very honest with me and told me other than getting married nothing is set in stone right now. He really doesn't know what the future holds for him. I can understand that, if we knew the future we would all be wealthy. He said he had several options and he would choose the one that best
suited him. He has done a very good job with making decisions so whose to question him? Knowing Tyler the way I do, he will be a success at whatever he chooses. It always works out that way when you give that 110%.

I of course asked him about this years version of the Buckeyes. He, always being the optimistic, said they should be in the National Championship with what they have returning from last year. He then proceeded to tell me stories of his time at Ohio State. He talked about the friendships he had made with the players. How the freshmen get the brunt of the jokes during camp. Some things you would never know if it wasn't for knowing someone like Tyler.

I could go on with this but why spoil a great read like Buckeye Dreams? Purchase a copy and read a story about how to succeed in life by really trying. When you have a dream, hold unto it for dear life. We only go around once, and Tyler is making his turn really count!
