Thomas Tuchel is looking to bring a pair of top-quality Germany stars to Chelsea this summer, an Arsenal midfielder is in talks over a summer move, while Liverpool are scaling up their bid to lure a West Ham star, according to Friday’s transfer gossip.
TUCHEL WANTS GERMANY PAIR TO JOIN CHELSEA
Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Borussia Monchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann.
The Sun, via Bild, claims the Thomas Tuchel wants to be reunited with his former Borussia Dortmund charge at Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old is contracted until 2023 and is valued at around £14m. And with no buyout clause in his deal, Tuchel is hopeful Chelsea can land a bargain.
Gladbach are expected to lose a number of key players this summer with boss Marco Rose set to take over at Dortmund.
The loss of Hofman would certainly hit hard. The winger has six goals and 10 assists this season. He also made his debut for Germany back in October.
It’s claimed Tuchel has already made contact with the player’s advisers to sound him out over a summer move. The good news for Chelsea is that Bild feels Hofmann is ready for a new challenge and is open to joining the Blues.
Any move to London would likely increase claims that one of Christian Pulisic or Hakim Ziyech could be sold.
The Blues look could also add to their German contigent this summer with a raid on Bayern Munich. According to AZ, Tuchel has also made the signing of Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule a top priority.
But with David Alaba and Jerome Boateng due to depart, it seems unlikely Bayern will sanction Sule’s sale.
