LIVE: Liverpool vs Everton

45′ + 5′ HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-1 EVERTON.

45′ + 3′ Alexander-Arnold picks out Mane on the right of the box with a throughball and he turns before drilling a cross into the middle. He’s closed down by two Everton defenders though and Keane makes the block.

Liverpool

45′ + 1′ Kabak is booked after he catches Coleman with a late challenge.

45′ Gomes touches it back to Digne on the left and he whips another cross into the middle of the box. He’s looking for Richarlison in the middle, but Kabak steps across him to intercept it and clear his lines.

43′ Liverpool are still keeping possession well and it’s patient play from the hosts as they move it out from the back. They win a free-kick on the right and Alexander-Arnold takes it quickly, but there’s too much on it for Mane and Pickford collects.

Everton

41′ Gomes has made a couple of late challenges so far and the yellow card is out this time as he clatters into Salah off the ball.

39′ It’s a nervy moment for Keane at the back as he clears his lines and Firmino is closing him down quickly. He blocks the clearance and it loops back towards goal. Pickford backtracks but it’s safely over the bar.

37′ CHANCE! Liverpool have another free-kick, but this one is further out through the middle. Thiago lifts it over the top and Phillips throws himself forward to head it towards the near post but sends it into the side netting.

35′ Jones finds himself in a pocket of space on the edge of the area and he has time to take a touch before curling an effort towards the far post. He can’t get it in at the far post though and it bounces wide.

33′ GREAT SAVE! It’s a wonderful cross into the box from Digne on the left and Coleman gets ahead of Robertson at the far post. He heads it powerfully at goal, but Alisson quickly gets across his line to push it wide.

31′ Liverpool have a free-kick just outside the box and it’s Alexander-Arnold that steps up to take it. He curls his effort over the wall, but there’s not enough dip to get it back under the crossbar and it sails over the goal.

Liverpool

30′ Henderson tried to carry on after coming back onto the field, but he goes down off the ball again and Phillips is being brought on for him.

29′ Everton are on the attack again now, with Davies leading it down the left. His cross into the box is blocked and they can’t get hold of the loose ball to try and keep the pressure on Liverpool.

27′ Henderson slowly gets back to his feet with help from the physio and it looks like he wants to try and carry on as he walks to the edge of the pitch.

25′ It looks like there’s a problem for Henderson here as he’s stayed down holding his hamstring after stretching to keep the ball away from Doucoure, and the medical team are on to give him some treatment.

23′ Liverpool are piling the pressure on Everton now and keeping the visitors penned back in their own half as they push forward again. Jones plays a throughball into Salah this time, but Keane steps across to intercept it.

21′ GOOD SAVE! Mane drills a low cross to Alexander-Arnold and nobody closes him down as he gets to the edge of the box. There’s a lot of power behind the shot and Pickford does well to get a hand to it to help it over.

20′ GREAT SAVE! Alexander-Arnold’s cross is cleared by Godfrey, but only as far as Henderson on the edge of the box. He hits the shot on the volley and it’s dipping towards the far post, but Pickford gets fingertips to it to tip it wide.

19′ Salah threads it through to Mane, but he turns into trouble on the edge of the box. Keane nicks it off him, but it rebounds into Firmino’s path. He takes the shot early, but it deflects off Holgate to go wide.

17′ Rodriguez wins a free-kick through the middle after being caught by Kabak and he’s standing over it. He keeps his shot low, sending it under the wall, but it’s an easy one for Alisson, who holds onto it.

15′ Richarlison is only the third Everton player to score in back-to-back Premier League appearances at Anfield for the club, after Tim Cahill in March 2006 and Kevin Campbell in October 2000.

13′ Pickford goes long with his clearance and it ends up being a good pass into Richarlison after he got away from Kabak. He has to wait for support to join him which gives Liverpool chance to get back and his cross is blocked.

11′ Alexander-Arnold curls the corner into the near post and Wijnaldum pulls away from Digne to get to it. He flicks his header on, but can’t direct it on target, sending it just wide of the woodwork.

9′ Salah breaks quickly through the middle and he touches it out to Mane on the left. He whips an early cross into the box for Firmino, but Pickford reads it well and comes off his line to punch it away.

7′ It’s better from Liverpool now as they patiently keep possession and Alexander-Arnold plays a good throughball into Salah. He squares it into the middle for Mane, but it’s cut out by Keane.

5′ Everton are causing Liverpool some early problems as they keep the pressure on. Rodriguez is picked out in the middle again, but he’s brought down by Robertson before he can pick out a team-mate.

Everton

3′ Rodriguez gets his head up to spot Richarlison’s run and plays a first-time throughball into him to get him in on goal.

Everton

3′ EVERTON LEAD! Doucoure wins the ball back in midfield and he nods it to Rodriguez. Richarlison times his run perfectly to get on the end of his pass before he hits his shot across goal, beating Alisson and finding the far bottom corner. 1-0 Everton!

1′ Everton win an early corner and Coleman whips it into the box for the visitors. It misses everyone at the near post and ends up hitting Godfrey, but he can’t sort his feet out quick enough to get it on target.

1′ Davies gets the game underway for Everton!

The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.

Liverpool haven’t lost four consecutive Premier League matches since December 2002 under Gerard Houllier.

Carlo Ancelotti makes three changes to the team that lost to Manchester City on Wednesday, with Coleman, Rodriguez and Gomes all coming in. Iwobi and Sigurdsson drop to the bench, where Calvert-Lewin and Allan are named after returning from injury. Yerry Mina is out with a calf problem.

Jurgen Klopp was clearly happy with his side’s performance against Leipzig in midweek as he names an unchanged line-up today, which means Firmino makes his 200th Premier League appearance for the club.

EVERTON SUBS: Bernard, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Niels Nkounkou, Allan, Alex Iwobi, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Robin Olsen, Joshua King, Tyler Onyango.

EVERTON STARTING XI (4-5-1): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey; James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tom Davies, Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne; Richarlison.

LIVERPOOL SUBS: Nathaniel Phillips, Neco Williams, Ben Davies, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Xherdan Shaqiri, Adrian.

LIVERPOOL STARTING XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ozan Kabak, Jordan Henderson, Andy Robertson; Thiago Alcantara, Georginio Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.

Liverpool have slipped down to sixth in the table after losing their last three games, and they’re without a win in five at Anfield, having lost the last three at home. They do come into today on the back of a win though after a 2-0 away win at RB Leipzig in the Champions League. As for Everton, they would go level on points with their rivals with a win today. They’ve won just one of their last six in the league, but have been good away from home recently, going unbeaten in their previous seven on the road (W5 D2).
