LIVE: AC Milan vs Inter

Milan grew into the game as the half went on, but Pioli will want a much quicker start from his side as they look to get back into the match, as well as a bigger attacking threat. As for Inter, they looked dangerous each time they broke forward and Conte will want more of the same after the break.

Martinez’s early goal gives Inter a 1-0 lead at half-time. The visitors started the game quickly and just five minutes in Martinez got between Milan’s defenders to head Lukaku’s cross past the keeper. Ibrahimovic has had two efforts saved by Handanovic at the other end, while Perisic forced a good stop out of Donnarumma at the other end and Skriniar headed over just before half-time.

45′ + 2′ HALF-TIME: MILAN 0-1 INTER.

45′ + 2′ GOOD CHANCE! Eriksen whips in the free-kick from the right and he picks out Skriniar in the middle. He heads his effort back across goal, and Donnarumma is beaten, but it lands on the roof of the net.

45′ + 1′ Inter break quickly on the counter, with Barella doing well to ride a challenge from Hernandez. He touches it out to Hakimi on the right and he’s brought down by Rebic as he goes to put in a cross.

44′ Ibrahimovic pulls the ball back from the byline to Calhanoglu. He’s closed down by Skiriniar so he tries to chip it over the defender to Rebic, but there’s too much on it and it bounces out of play.

42′ Martinez and Lukaku have now combined for six goals in Serie A this season, at least two more than any other duo.

40′ De Vrij’s clearance is played straight to Rebic and he drifts out to the left to get space for a cross. He floats it to the far post, but there’s nothing Ibrahimovic can do to keep it in play at the byline.

38′ Ibrahimovic nods it to Rebic before pulling away to the edge of the box so he can get the return pass. He hits the shot on the volley, keeping it low towards the bottom corner, but Handanovic gets down to hold onto it.

37′ GOOD SAVE! Perisic drills a low shot to the near bottom corner from the edge of the box and Donnarumma gets down and pushes it away with a strong hand. Martinez follows it in, but he can’t direct his effort on target.

36′ Eriksen cuts inside from the left before laying the ball off to Martinez. He does well to hold onto it on the edge of the box under challenges from Calabria and Romagnoli, but eventually overruns it and loses out to Hernandez.

34′ Milan are keeping the pressure on Inter here and Calabria’s cross is cleared by De Vrij in the middle. It falls to Kessie again, but there’s too much on his throughball, which is over Ibrahimovic’s head and into Handanovic’s gloves.

32′ CLOSE! Kessie’s chip into the box is headed away by Bastoni and it falls nicely for Hernandez in the middle. He takes it around De Vrij before drilling his shot across goal and it’s just wide of the far post.

30′ Milan are keeping the ball better now, but all of their possession is in front of Inter. Romagnoli tries to get them forward quicker by lifting a pass over the top, but Hernandez set off early and the offside flag goes up.

28′ Once again, Perisic gets away from Calabria on the left and whips another good cross into the six-yard box. Lukaku is waiting for it in the middle, but Kjaer steps ahead of him to put it out for a corner.

26′ CHANCE! It’s a dangerous cross into the six-yard box from Perisic on the left and Lukaku is running onto it at the near post. He can’t make contact with it though and Martinez didn’t gamble on it at the back.

24′ Calabria just steps away from Perisic on the left and he curls a great cross towards Calhaboglu at the far post. He’s unmarked after pulling away from Skriniar, but Handanovic comes off his line to collect it.

22′ Hakimi crashed into Hernandez after he got rid of the ball and is booked for the challenge.

21′ Eriksen’s free-kick is cleared by Tonali, but Brozovic hooks it back into the middle for Lukaku. He brings it down before squaring it to Martinez, but the ball hits his standing leg and he can’t get a shot away.

19′ Milan are patiently pushing forward and having a bit more luck getting in behind Inter now. Romagnoli plays in Hernandez and he cuts inside from the left, but it’s a good tackle from Hakimi to dispossess him.

17′ Donnarumma has become the youngest player to reach 200 Serie A appearances in the era of three points for a win at 21 years and 361 days. He beats the previous record set by Gianluigi Buffon (24 years, 83 days).

15′ Milan swing cross after cross into Inter’s box and the visitors just can’t clear their lines. Hernandez picks out Ibrahimovic in the middle and he backheels it into the ground, but the bounce doesn’t catch out Handanovic at his near post.

14′ Martinez plays a one-two with Eriksen to open up some space down the right before curling a great cross towards Perisic at the far post. Kjaer is covering though and he hooks it out for a corner.

12′ Kjaer picks up the first yellow card of the game after he clips the back of Martinez’s heels to stop the counter.

11′ Inter are making life difficult for Milan here as they’re closing the hosts down high upfield and giving them no time on the ball. Kjaer’s forced to clear his lines quickly, but it floats harmlessly back to De Vrij.

9′ The corner is swung into the box for Inter and Donnarumma is quick off his line to punch it away. He gets it as far as Martinez, who loops the ball back into the middle, but the keeper is first to it again.

7′ Milan are struggling to get out of their own half at the moment as Inter continue to push forward. Calabria nicks it off Martinez and tries to set Saelemaekers off down the right, but overhits his pass straight out of play.

5′ Lukaku’s first cross is blocked by Hernandez, but he reacts quickest to get on the loose ball and keep it alive before swinging it into the middle for Martinez.

5′ INTER LEAD! Martinez gets in between the two central defenders in the middle of the box and waits for Lukaku to swing the cross in. He rises highest and sends his header back across goal to put his side ahead. 1-0 Inter!

4′ Milan are steadily playing out from the back and Kessie plays a good throughball forward for Ibrahimovic. His first touch lets him down though and Inter break on the counter-attack.

2′ Lukaku does well to hold off Hernandez as he waits for Barella to join him on the right. He whips a first-time cross into the box when it’s laid off to him, but Perisic flicks his header wide of the far post.

1′ Lukaku gets the game underway for Inter!

The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.

Milan are looking to do the double over Inter for only the second time in the previous 15 years, last doing so in 2010-11, when they won 1-0 in the first game and 3-0 in the second.

Antonio Conte was clearly impressed with his team’s performance against Lazio last weekend as he sticks with the same starting line-up today.

Stefano Pioli makes three changes to the side that lost to Spezia last time out in the league, bringing in Calabria, Tonali and Rebic. Dalot and Leao drop to the bench, while Ismael Bennacer misses out with a thigh injury he picked up in the Europa League on Thursday.

Inter have lost just one of their last 10 in all competitions (W6 D3), and are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches, which has seen them move to the top of the table. Milan sit just one point behind them but have lost three of their last nine in all competitions (W4 D2), including a defeat last time out in the league to Spezia.
