Liverpool have made a Serie A star their No 1 priority this summer, Roman Abramovich will break the bank to bring a star to Chelsea this summer, while Saturday’s transfer gossip has big claims on Harry Kane’s future.
DE PAUL BID ON CARDS FOR LIVERPOOL
Liverpool chief Michael Edwards is preparing to launch a £26m summer bid for Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, according to reports.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have suffered a miserable run of form and the deposed champions face a tough battle to finish in the top four.
Klopp, however, has dismissed speculation that his side need a wholesale squad rebuild.
Instead they are likely to focus on deals for one or two key additions – and the Daily Express now claims De Paul is at the top of their wanted list.
The Argentine playmaker was strongly linked with Leeds last summer. Despite plenty of speculation, Leeds never actually made a bid.
It’s since emerged though that Liverpool are also keen.
Now the Express, via Tutto Udinese, claims sporting director Michael Edwards has green-lighted a £26m offer for De Paul. That will match the £26m offer apparently also on the table from Inter Milan.
The report claims that while Udinese are willing to sell, they could try and hold out for their £34m valuation.
But they claim the Reds are favourites for his signature with Klopp a huge fan and the player keen to move to the Premier League.
Lille’s Renato Sanches and Sporting Lisbon midfielder Pedro Goncalves have also been linked with the Merseysiders in recent weeks.
