Competition: La Liga
Market: Real Betis win
Odds: 1/1 @ 888sport
With the chance to potentially break into the European spots this weekend, Real Betis will make the trip to a struggling Cadiz on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Cadiz might have managed to snatch a shock point away at Barcelona last time out, it doesn’t cover what has been a worrying rut for the La Liga debutants. While some in their camp might have been dreaming of a stunning European charge after an eye-catching start to the 2020/21 campaign, Los Piratas have come crashing back down to earth over the past six weeks. Freefalling down the table, Álvaro Cervera’s side are without a win in their last seven matchups across all formats and have mustered just a single top-flight point in their last five appearances. With a growing reputation for their recent issues at the back and already shipping nine goals in their three February matchups, it should also be noted that Cadiz have suffered back-to-back 4-2 and 4-0 defeats against Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao on home soil.
As for the visitors, despite that action-packed 3-2 defeat against Barcelona earlier in the month, Real Betis have managed to bounce back in an eye-catching fashion. Managing to build off of that 2-1 victory away at Europa League outfit Villarreal a fortnight ago, Head Coach Manuel Pellegrini saw his side land a deserved 1-0 win against Getafe last time out. Really finding their feet after bringing in the former West Ham boss, Los Verdiblancos have a European return at the top of their agenda this year. With just a single defeat in their last eight La Liga contests, a run that stems back to December 29th, Betis are enjoying a real purple patch since opening 2021. Also managing to collect seven points from their last three matchups away from the Estadio Benito Villamarín, Sunday’s guests should be confident of extending on that tally this weekend.
