48′ Vidal surges forward from the back and offloads to his left for Torres. The midfielder sends a first-time delivery into the box, but Lenglet reads the danger to clear for the home side.

Sevilla were too passive in the first half and seemed to invite pressure from the hosts. Luuk de Jong has been a spectator for the majority of the contest, while the same can be said of Suso and Youssef En-Nesyri. Julen Lopetegui needs more from his team in the final third to stave off Barca.

Barcelona lead Sevilla 1-0 at the break in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash, but trail 2-1 in the tie. Ousmane Dembele put the home side ahead with a rocket of a strike on his right foot to reduce the deficit. Lionel Messi had an effort cleared off the line, while Pedri fired wide of the post. As a result, the Catalan club still have work to do to keep themselves in the competition.

45′ HALF-TIME: BARCELONA 1-0 SEVILLA

44′ Messi probes on the right flank and cuts inside with a drop of his shoulder to open up room to fire on his left foot. Diego Carlos sticks with him all the way and brushes the Argentine off the ball before he can shoot.

43′ Diego Carlos connects with a header that is deflected towards goal by Pique from Torres’ free-kick, but Ter Stegen plucks the ball out of the air with ease.

42′ Dest brings down Torres with a late challenge and gives away a free-kick on the left flank.

39′ De Jong offloads to Messi, who lines up a strike on his left foot, but Sevilla have the men back to charge down his effort.

38′ Barcelona are working the ball well across the pitch and seemingly have the measure of the visitors. Lopetegui may be forced into a re-shuffle in his ranks at the break.

37′ Fernando brings down Busquets with a late challenge and goes into the book.

35′ Mingueza lifts a ball over the top for De Jong in acres of space in the right inside channel, but the Dutchman is well offside as he crosses into the box.

33′ OFF THE LINE! Messi cuts open the Sevilla defence with neat footwork in the left inside channel. His strike from a tight angle is deflected towards the goalline, but Acuna is in the right place at the right time to hook the ball away before it can cross.

32′ WIDE! Messi and Busquets combine in the final third to tee up Pedri for a strike at goal, but the youngster slices his right-footed strike from the edge of the box wide of the target.

31′ Acuna has to act in the six-yard box to clear Alba’s dangerous cross over his own bar after a neat one-two between the Barcelona full-back and Messi.

30′ CLOSE! Vidal clips a ball over the top into the right inside channel for De Jong. However, the Dutchman just cannot stretch make contact as Ter Stegen races off his line to smother at his feet.

29′ Dembele is played into space by De Jong, but he cannot take the ball in stride and Diego Carlos wins possession for the visitors.

27′ Messi tries to combine with Busquets on the edge of the Sevilla box, but the Spaniard goes down under pressure from Kounde. However, the referee waves play on and tells the midfielder to get to his feet.

24′ Sevilla are attempting to stem the tide from the early Barca pressure and are beginning to get a foothold into the contest.

22′ It has been an open game thus far, which will concern Lopetegui on the bench. The visitors still have the lead in the tie, but they look vulnerable at the back.

20′ OVER! Sevilla break on the counter through Jordan and he offloads into space for Suso. The midfielder receives the return pass from his team-mate, but sees his blast deflected over the bar by Alba.

19′ De Jong goes down in the Sevilla box as he tries to latch on to a cross from Dest, but the referee deems that Diego Carlos won the ball.

17′ Vidal pushes forward through the middle of the park for the visitors. He opens up space to strike, but his effort takes a deflection off the boot of Lenglet before travelling into the hands of Ter Stegen.

16′ Alba is played into space down the left flank and he drills a low ball into the box. Kounde has to be alert to clear ahead of Dembele.

14′ Dembele scored the opener for Barca at the weekend and has done so again tonight. He likes playing against Sevilla.

12′ GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! DEMBELE SCORES A STUNNER!! 1-0 BARCELONA!!! The Catalan club are back in the tie as the Frenchman finds the top-right corner. Messi feeds Dembele in the box and he has to turn to beat the attention of Kounde. He finds space to strike on his right foot and his effort flies through a crowd of players before rocketing into the top-left corner, leaving Vaclik with no chance.

12′ CLOSE! Messi delivers a dangerous low cross towards the near post that Lenglet tries to meet, but he can only steer a close-range effort wide of the right post.

11′ OVER! Pedri twists and turns in the box to squeeze a pass through to Dembele. The Frenchman goes for the blast from just inside the penalty area, but Diego Carlos deflects his effort over the bar.

10′ SAVE! Dest works an offload back to Busquets in space on the edge of the box. He goes for a strike on his left foot that he hammers straight into the arms of Vaclik.

8′ Barca are building a rhythm in their play and are forcing the visitors back towards their own goal.

6′ WIDE! Dembele surges at the Sevilla defence and lines up a left-footed drive, only to blast his effort wide of the left post.

5′ Dest charges forward down the right flank and cut a cross back towards Dembele in the box, but Diego Carlos steps across to make a vital interception.

2′ Acuna makes a good forward run towards the Barca half before being felled by De Jong. The visitors have made an energetic start to the contest.

Sevilla have made six changes to their side that was beaten at the weekend. Vaclik comes into the side in place of Yassine Bounou. Vidal and Acuna start in the full-back positions ahead of Navas and Sergio Escudero, who misses out tonight. Suso, Torres and En-Nesyri get the nod in the final third as Gomez, Munir and Rakitic drop to the bench.

Koeman has opted to remain the same team and formation that was successful against Sevilla at the weekend. Messi and Dembele lead the line in the final third with Dest and Alba operating on the flanks. Pedri and De Jong are operating in support, with Busquets sitting in front of a back three.

Sevilla were off the pace in their 2-0 defeat to Barca last time out. Their form has been up and down since beating the Catalan club in the first leg, recording league victories over Huesca and Osasuna, but also losing the first leg of their Champions League clash to Borussia Dortmund and then again in their contest with Koeman’s side. Discipline is the name of the game for Julen Lopetegui’s men this evening.

Barcelona start the night needing to overcome a 2-0 deficit to advance to the final of the competition. They were outplayed in Seville as goals from Jules Kounde and Ivan Rakitic condemned them to defeat. The two sides did meet at the weekend in LaLiga where Barca got their revenge on the road as goals from Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi secured the three points. However, Ronald Koeman and his men know that they face a tough slog tonight.
