4′ Goal Matěj Vydra

4′ Pereira gives away another avoidable free-kick but on this occasion, McNeil overhits his set-piece delivery straight into the hands of Schmeichel from out wide.

3′ Tielemans nearly finds Pereira at the back post with a left-footed cross, however, none of that will matter as the assistant on the far side has their flag up for offside against the Belgian.

2′ WIDE! McNeil gets a chance to swing an early free-kick in and finds the head of Mee, who can only find the wrong side of Schmeichel’s right-hand post from inside the area. An early warning sign for the visitors not to give away needless set-pieces to this Burnley side.

1′ Referee Andy Madley blows his whistle to get this Premier League fixture underway!

The players are wandering out the tunnel at Turf Moor and shortly it will be time for kick-off.

Today, it is two years since Rodgers’ first Premier League match in charge of Leicester, a 2-1 defeat at Watford. Since that date, only Man City (79) and Liverpool (77) have won more away points in the competition than Leicester (62).

Brendan Rodgers’ side has been plagued with injury issues, meaning he makes three changes at Turf Moor. Jonny Evans and Harvey Barnes miss out as the latest injury casualties, while Thomas moves to the bench. Mendy, Choudhury and Amartey, who will likely fill in for Evans at centre-back, are the replacements as the Foxes name what seems to be an extremely narrow line-up.

Sean Dyche makes one alteration from Burnley’s heavy loss at Tottenham. Wood, who appeared as a substitute at the weekend after a six-game absence, replaces Rodriguez to start up top with Vydra. With Cork partnering Westwood in the middle, Brownhill continues to occupy a wider role on the right-hand side of midfield.

SUBS: Sidnei Tavares, Luke Thomas, Christian Fuchs, Thakgalo Leshabela, Danny Ward, Marc Albrighton, Vontae Daley-Campbell, Wesley Fofana, Cengiz Under.

LEICESTER CITY (4–3-1-2): Kasper Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Caglar Soyuncu, Daniel Amartey, Timothy Castagne; Nampalys Mendy, Hamza Choudhury, Wilfred Ndidi; Youri Tielemans; Kelechi Iheanacho, Jamie Vardy.

SUBS: Jimmy Dunne, Erik Pieters, Jay Rodriguez, Kevin Long, Josh Benson, Dale Stephens, Phil Bardsley, Lewis Richardson, Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

BURNLEY (4-4-2): Nick Pope; Matthew Lowton, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Josh Brownhill, Ashley Westwood, Jack Cork, Dwight McNeil; Chris Wood, Matej Vydra.

After disappointing performances against West Brom and Tottenham, the Clarets, who sit five points above 18th-placed Fulham, are in need of a result to distance themselves from the relegation zone. The visitors sit in third, a point behind Manchester United, and most recently lost 3-1 at home to Arsenal.
