Paper Talk: Huge price drop prompts Liverpool, Man Utd to chase defensive rock; Leicester pip Arsenal to £15m signing

The price tag on Kalidou Koulibaly’s head has reduced massively prompting a huge summer transfer scramble, while Leicester are confident they have landed an Arsenal target, all in the papers.

Napoli have reportedly reduced their asking price for Kalidou Koulibaly to around £38.7m.

That is set to spark an almighty scramble for his signature this summer.

Il Mattino report that the Serie A outfit need to make cuts and are now open to offloading the centre-back for around €45m.

That is a dramatic reduction on the €75m that Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis was understood to be demanding last ummer

Liverpool and Manchester United have both been linked with the 29-year-old Senegal defender previously

CalcioMercato claimed Liverpool would go for the Napoli man in January, but instead they landed Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies. The latter though has yet to appear for the champions and Jurgen Klopp is believed to be looking for another defender this summer.

United are also on the hunt for a long-term partner for Harry Maguire and could go after Koulibaly.

However, they will face competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. The Germans have already signed Dayot Upamecano but are also tracking Koulibaly.

The Senegal centre-back is contracted at Napoli until 2023.
