Man City have lost three of their last five home league games against Manchester United (D1 L1), including a 1-2 defeat last season. They’ve not lost consecutive home league games against Man Utd since April 2010.

United have made four changes to their side from their goalless draw against Palace. Lindelof returns to the back four in place of Bailly. However, Edinson Cavani misses out due to injury. Martial replaces the Uruguayan as the spearhead of the attack, while James comes in on the right flank for Greenwood. McTominay returns in a defensive midfield role for Matic, who drops to the bench.

Guardiola has made three changes to his side from their win over Wolves last time out. Zinchenko and Stones are recalled into the backline in place of Walker and Laporte. Cancelo reverts to right-back after starting on the left side during the week. Gundogan gets the nod ahead of Silva in the middle of the park. Sterling, Jesus and Mahrez continue to lead the line.

Manchester United’s bid to catch their rivals has stalled with a run of only one win in five matches. The Red Devils have been solid, losing only one of their last 21 matches in the Premier League. However, they’ve struggled to put victories together to apply pressure on their rivals. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have fired blanks in their last three outings and will face a tough task against the best defence in the league to change that this afternoon.

Manchester City are firing on all cylinders heading into the Manchester derby. Pep Guardiola’s men have won 21 matches in a row and are unbeaten in their last 28 games. City hold a 12-point lead over Leicester City at the top of the Premier League and can take a huge stride towards the crown with another victory this afternoon. City put on a late show to crush Wolves during the week and would relish another emphatic win over their biggest rivals.

Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Manchester City and Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.
