According to a recent report from Daily Mirror, Edinson Cavani has turned down an offer to extend his contract with Manchester United.
The Uruguay forward has been at the heart of many great moments for United over the course of the last few months, but as it turns out, he reportedly has his heart set on a return to South America. Whether or not that actually comes to fruition remains to be seen, but it did always feel like this would be a short-term move for Cavani and United – in a similar manner to the deal Zlatan Ibrahimovic had at Old Trafford.
Cavani may be a veteran at this stage in his career but that doesn’t mean he still can’t pull a rabbit or two out of the hat. He has all of the talent necessary to do some lasting damage in the Premier League and our expectation is that he’ll thrive wherever he goes.
