Liverpool want to sign a star midfielder to bring in a new dimension, while West Ham suffer a blow in their hunt to land a striker – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.
KLOPP WANTS CAMAVINGA AT LIVRPOOL
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has recommended the signing of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to club bosses, according to a report.
Camavinga has become one of Europe’s most highly-rated young talents since his breakthrough two seasons ago.
The Frenchman made his senior debut at the age of 16 in April 2019 and has not looked back since. Indeed, he has now played 60 Ligue 1 games and is still only 18.
Furthermore, he has taken huge strides on the international stage, earning two caps for France to date.
As such, clubs across Europe have looked at his potential signing. Real Madrid and Manchester United have both been linked with the teenager in recent transfer windows.
According to Don Balon, though, Liverpool have registered their interest.
The source notes how Camavinga has become a more ‘offensive’ and ‘decisive’ player as he has progressed. However, Klopp believes that he could advance that progression and ’empower’ his team with the signing.
Don Balon adds that Rennes currently value Camavinga at €60million (£51million). The midfielder has played all but two of Rennes’ league games this season.
Liverpool could be looking to bring in a new midfielder, with Georginio Wijnaldum reportedly agreeing a pre-contract with Barcelona for a summer transfer.
